Vocations

Vocations
"Becoming a priest or a man or woman religious is not primarily our own decision.... Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love." - Pope Francis, Address to Seminarians and Novices, July 6, 2013
Vocations can take several forms. Some men are called to priesthood, the permanent diaconate, or religious life. Some women are called to religious life; many men and women are called to marriage, parenthood, or single life. Each of us finds our vocation through prayer, asking God to reveal His will for us.
Vocations often take root in family life. Families that practice their faith, encourage prayer and service, and introduce children to the possibility of serving the church through priesthood or religious life are vital to promoting vocations.
Our Vocations Committee offers tools and information to help foster vocations. For example, the Prayer Chalice Program provides not only information and guidance, but a chalice to use a focal point for prayer and reflection.
