Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist to assist in distributing Holy Communion during all Masses. Adults and high school students who have received the sacrament of Confirmation are invited to serve in this ministry. (Extraordinary Ministers may also distribute the Eucharist to Catholics who are unable to attend Mass due to confinement to their homes, the hospital, retirement homes or nursing homes.)

A spiritual and theological training session is held several times a year, along with practical training on how the duties are to be performed. After volunteers have completed training, they are commissioned; a blessing administered by the priest.

Distributing the Holy Eucharist to our brothers and sisters in Christ requires the utmost care and reverence, and as such, is not to be taken lightly.
