Announcements and More!

Updated Saturday Feb. 14

Here's a quick summary of updated information and upcoming events:

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18.  Lent is a time to prepare for the joy of Easter by examining and improving our relationship with God, through prayer and acts of penance. You’ll find devotional booklets in the church lobby for you to take home and use! You might also want to look at the Lenten disciplines the church specifies; click here.

Although Ash Wednesday is not a day of obligation, many people like to begin Lent by attending Mass and receiving ashes.

Here is the Mass schedule for Ash Wednesday:

  • 6:30, 8:00 and 9:45 a.m.
  • Noon
  • 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.

(the 9:45 a.m. Mass is for the school; the 8:30 p.m. Mass is in Spanish)

During Lent, weekday Masses will be at 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Our Thursday evening Adoration and confession time are cancelled because of the evening Mass;
they will resume after Easter.

On Fridays during Lent, we’ll offer a meatless soup supper at 6 p.m. in the Gathering Space, followed by Stations of the Cross at 6:45 p.m.

A Walk Through the Mass: Join our deacons and deacon candidates for presentations on the Mass! This seven week series begins Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. The presentations will cover what happens during the Mass, what each person’s role is, and why we do what we do. All are welcome! No cost!

Lenten Parish Mission: March 7-10! The mission, focusing on the Sacraments, will given by the Dynamic Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, an internationally renowned speaker and author. He has been a guest on numerous Catholic radio shows and TV programs and hosts the EWTN Beacon of Truth radio show. More information on this to come!
