YOUTH MINISTRY

Both of our Middle and High school programs utilize the LifeTeen curriculum. This curriculum aims to "Bring teens closer to Christ." By helping youth grow in personal prayer, encouraging participation in the sacraments, and building a trusted community of friendship, we hope to equip our youth to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their daily lives. We accompany parents in their role as the primary catechists and role models in the faith, helping teens form their faith and grow in relationship with Christ and His Church. In both our programs friends are always welcome, regardless of their church affiliation.

Middle School

We offer:

  • Faith Formation-Weekly classes to learn about the faith and how to apply it in everyday life. Wednesdays from 7-8PM in the Gathering Space.

  • Pericope & Pancakes (Bible Study)- Using Lectio Divina to learn how the weekly readings apply to our life. We then celebrate with a pancake dinner. Sundays from 6-7:30PM in the Kramer House.

  • Flock Night- As a Shepherd gathers their flock, we too gather all the Middle Schoolers from the Parish and the CKCS. An evening of fun and faith led by High School students. This is held 3 times a year in October, January, and April.

High School

“Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world, and everything he touches becomes young, new, full of life. The very first words, then, that I would like to say to every young Christian are these: Christ is alive and he wants you to be alive!

No matter how much you live the experience of these years of your youth, you will never know their deepest and fullest meaning unless you encounter each day your best friend, the friend who is Jesus.”
-
Pope Francis ‘Christus Vivit’

Our High School Youth Group is centered on the friendship of Jesus. Through the virtue of friendship lived as a community of believers, we will explore the essential teachings of the faith, pray with the scriptures and visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We will foster that friendship with deep conversations, games, and snacks. Following the desires of the Bishop, the youth group will also be directed at preparing for and discerning vocations: Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, or religious life. We will do this by seeing how the aspects of the faith and friendship with Jesus are lived out in married life, priesthood, and religious life with various speakers throughout the year. For those in High School who have not yet received Confirmation or other Sacraments of Initiation, the youth group will account for the preparation for the reception of those sacraments.

Youth group will meet Sunday nights, 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Gathering Space.
