Adult - Bible Study

"But you, remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you learned it, and that from infancy you have known the sacred scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work" (Timothy 3:14-17).

Saint Jerome wrote: "Ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Christ." We invite you to join our 2010 Bible study classes. Please click on the link below for more details about the classes that will be offered.  All of these classes are held in the Youth Center. Child care is available during the morning classes. Daytime Classes:
Catholicism Project: Come along on the journey with Fr. Robert Barron as he explores the eimpact and teachings of the Catholic Church throughout the world. Using the art, architecture, literature, music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition, he illuminates the timeless teachings of the Church. Twelve sessions cover the basics of the Catholic faith. $35 study guide and workbook.

Parables of the Kingdom - Part Two: This study focuses on the parables unique to Matthew, and those developed by Luke. The parables offer a glimpse into the kingdom of God and invite us to think in new and fresh ways. This class uses the same commentary as Parables, Part One (Part 2 study guide only, $8) 6-week study Little Rock Video series. Text/study guide $15

Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit: Who is the Holy Spirit? How do we cooperate with him to experience the fullness of his presence? These are a few of the questions explored in this 9-week Bible Study, designed to help Catholics grow in appreciation of the Holy Spirit and his power to transform lives. Praying the Liturgy of the Hours: Divine Office for DODOS (Devout, Obedient, Disciples of our Savior): Learn how to pray the hours. Director of the local Third Order Carmelites, Rebecca Moak will guide the class. Classes will meet for an hour each week. Cost of $15 includes the book "The Divine Office for Dodos." Bring your own Liturgy of the Hours prayer book or purchase one at class.
