Sacramental Preparation - Confirmation

2011-2012 CONFIRMATION REQUIREMENTS
• Attend Mass regularly.
• Attend LIFE Nights (after Sunday evening Mass)
• Read, complete, and submit application for confirmation
• Find and choose a sponsor. Sponsors must be confirmed, active Catholics and cannot be the confirmation candidate's parent. Sponsors are also asked to attend a Super Sunday on December 4, 2011 from 2-3:30PM. This Super Sunday will be directed at Candidates and Sponsors in the hopes of helping them enter into a spiritual dialogue with one another. Candidates should maintain weekly contact with their sponsors.
• Attend six (6) Super Sunday sessions and two (2) Small Group sessions. If you miss a session, you MUST contact either (a) Mary Seidler or (b) your team leader to find out what you missed. Make up work will be sent to you via email. This work needs to be turned in to Mary Seidler no later than the next Super Sunday. Missing more than 2 Super Sundays or 2 Small Group sessions will seriously jeopardize your opportunity to be confirmed in the spring.
• Attend one weekend retreat. Our retreat is scheduled for Friday, November 18-Sunday, November 20 at Diocese of Baker-Powell Butte Retreat Center in Powell Butte, Oregon. If you do not attend this retreat, there will be additional retreats throughout the year. You are responsible to register and attend one retreat to be confirmed in the spring.
• Complete 20 service hours. These hours must be completed to be Confirmed in the Spring.
-10 service hours must be in the church. Helping at Vacation Bible School, helping in younger children's religious education, and MSMFM all count towards your ten required hours. If you choose to lector and/or usher, two nights of lectoring and/or ushering will count for one hour of service. Please record your time and have someone sign off on it. You may email them to Mary Seidler. If you have already done some or all of your hours during Vacation Bible School, do not worry about having someone sign it as we already have a record of all of those hours.
-10 service hours must be completed in the community. Your Small Group Leader has a list of places and opportunities to volunteer in the community. Your small group may choose to do a project together as a team or you may volunteer on your own. Please record your time and have a representative from the place you do your work sign it. When you have completed your hours, pelase turn them in to Mary Seidler.
• Obtain and submit a copy of your baptismal record unless you were baptized at Christ the King.
